Service Description

An 8-week online course comprising a 2-hour live class each week (recording available in case students miss a class). The lessons are cumulative, so daily practice outside of class is essential to reinforce in-class lessons and allow progressions in subsequent lessons. The course is CPD accredited and is worth 16 CPD points. It is also recognised by activeIQ under their Professional Recognition kite mark. Course objectives 1. Understand the history of Indian Club swinging. 2. Understand the benefits of Indian Club swinging. 3. Learn how to perform Indian Clubs exercises. 4. Learn how to instruct Indian Clubs exercises using a logical sequence of progressions. 5. Understand how to plan and perform a suitable Indian Clubs routine with proficiency. What will I learn? Each student will be provided with a comprehensive .pdf manual of course materials on Day 1. Example of Week 1 lesson – first hour: What are Indian Clubs and what is Indian Clubs swinging? The history of Indian Clubs Benefits of Indian Club swinging Joint mobility and actions used in club swinging. What equipment will I need? One pair of Indian Clubs (recommended 1-2lb) *, a device to access the online lessons, and the space required to practice Indian Club swinging. *A pair of 320g beech wood Indian Clubs , can be supplied for GBP40 plus postage. How will I be assessed? Students theoretical and practical understanding of swinging and coaching Indian Clubs will be assessed throughout the course via: 1. Direct questioning during sessions. 2. Submission of the Indian Clubs knowledge worksheet, to be completed after the final lesson. 3. Competently swinging Indian Clubs to a minimum of 5 minute routine, and competently coaching a single and double club routine (10 mins) to be submitted in video format no later than 4 weeks following the completion of the course (If the standard of swinging is not met, you can resubmit 1 further video for assessment before a reassessment fee of GBP30 is applied). You will not be certified until successful completion of the competency-based assessment. To learn more please enquire.
